01.04.10 Launch of North West Minimum Standards for Leaving Care

Leaving Care providers, unlike providers of other Children’s Services, have no National Minimum Standards or registration process to undertake before working with Young People.

Placements Northwest in consultation with member Local Authorities and providers, established regional minimum standards to ensure that the providers operating in the region offer, at a minimum, an acceptable standard of placement.

As well as establishing the standards PNW is funding a 12 month pilot program to run in 2010/11 managed by St Helens LA to undertake assessment visits on behalf of all 21 member LAs.

18.11.09 Launch Event for the NW Leaving Care Contract for Externally Purchased Placements

The NW contract for externally purchased Leaving Care Placements was formally launched at an event at Haydock Park. The contract is now available for use by all member LAs and can be accessed here. The notes from the launch can be downloaded here.
